Japan was one of the countries I visited when I worked as a journalist and this made me very interested in the country, it's people, and history. As a filmmaker I was especially interested in some of the earlier films produced by Akira Kurosawa showing the history of Japan.

I am a graduate of the University of Pretoria where I majored in English, Philosophy and Psychology.

I worked as a journalist at the South African Broadcasting corporation and also as a freelance journalist for a current affairs programme called 'Carte Blanche'.

I have been teaching documentary students in class and online for the past decade and have now also completed a course in teaching English online.

I am an avid gardener and enjoy growing plants from seed. I also read to relax and I watch a lot of films. I furthermore love taking long beach walks. I also produce my own short films and enjoy telling people’s stories.
